De FUJIFILM X-H2S is een systeemcamera met APS-C sensor die de lat flink hoger legt en alles te bieden heeft wat men van een professioneel model mag verwachten.

Zowel op het gebied van fotografie als video worden er dankzij de volledig nieuwe backside illuminated (BSI) en stacked X-Trans CMOS 5 HS beeldsensor hoge prestaties geleverd. Datzelfde gaat ook op voor de volledig nieuw ontwikkelde X-Processor 5 beeldverwerkingsprocessor, die de krachtbron vormt van deze nieuwe systeemcamera van FUJIFILM.

De 26,16 Megapixel CMOS beeldsensor kan maar liefst 4x sneller worden uitgelezen ten opzichte van het vorige model. Ook is de nieuwe X-Processor 5 beeldverwerkingsprocessor flink sneller geworden en in snelheid verdubbeld.

Dankzij nieuwe toegepaste technologieën kan de FUJIFILM X-H2S hoge prestaties leveren op het gebied van automatisch scherpstellen. De autofocus prestaties van deze nieuwe systeemcamera stelt de X-H2S in staat om foto's te maken met een snelheid van maar liefst 40 beelden per seconde, zonder "blackout" van het zoekerbeeld.

Bovendien is het autofocus systeem nu uitgerust met nieuwe AI-mogelijkheden op het gebied van onderwerpherkenning. Zo kan het AF systeem van de X-H2S onderscheid maken tussen mensen, dieren en voertuigen. Uiteraard zijn de vertrouwde gezicht- en oogherkenning verder verbeterd.

Er is ook gedacht aan diegenen die de X-H2S willen gaan gebruiken voor video- en filmproducties. Zo kan de camera nu filmen met een resolutie en snelheid van 6.2K/30P en slow motion opnames maken met een resolutie en snelheid van 4K/120P. En wie uitsluitend in 4K wil filmen heeft nu niet langer meer te maken met een "crop" die in de voorgaande modellen werd toegepast wanneer er werd gefilmd op 4K50P en 4K60P. Dankzij de nieuwe stacked X-Trans CMOS 5 HS BSI sensor en de nieuwe X-Processor 5 beeldverwerkingsprocessor is ook het rolling-shutter effect tot een minimum beperkt. Bovendien kan de camera intern alle modi 3 filmopnames maken met een kleurdiepte van 4:2:2 10-bit en is er ondersteuning voor Apple ProRes 422.

Verdere verbeteringen aan de X-H2S bestaan uit een verbetering van het vijf-assige interne beeldstabilisatie systeem (IBIS), dat nu beeldstabilisatie kan bieden tot maar liefst 7 stops Ev. Daarnaast is de body van deze camera uiterst robuust en duurzaam vervaardigd uit aluminium, zodat hij ook tegen een stootje kan wanneer de camera onder professionele omstandigheden wordt gebruikt. Verder zijn er aanzienlijke verbeteringen doorgevoerd aan de bedieningsinterface en is de camera voorzien van een nieuwe CFexpress Type B geheugenkaartsleuf.

De X-H2S is geschikt voor actie- en sportfotografen, reportage- en natuurfotografen, vogelaars, videografen en producenten van diverse multimediaproducties.
